Gardening Trends for 2025
Welcome to our new site
Persicaria polymorpha, commonly known as White Fleece Flower, is a bold and statuesque perennial that brings height and elegance to the garden with its sturdy, branching stems and large, lance-shaped green leaves. In midsummer, it produces impressive plumes of creamy-white flowers that last for weeks, creating a soft, airy display that transitions into attractive pinkish-red seed heads later in the season. Forming a substantial clump, this low-maintenance plant is tolerant of heat, humidity, and even some drought once established. Non-invasive and long-lived, it is ideal for the back of borders, naturalized plantings, or as a flowering hedge, where it provides structure, movement, and lasting visual impact.
Latin Name Persicaria polymorpha

🌱 Perennial Care Guide (Gatineau/Ottawa)
All perennials at Nesbitt’s are suitable for hardiness zones 1 through 5. This means they are selected to withstand a wide range of colder climates and seasonal temperature variations in our region.
Perennials are expected to return year after year when planted in the right conditions. To support strong root development and long-term performance, use well-draining soil and enrich with compost or peat moss. Choosing the right plant for your garden’s light and soil will help ensure reliable growth and consistent blooms each season.
