Perennials are expected to return year after year when planted in the right conditions. Spring
  • Plant perennials once the ground has thawed and planting conditions are workable.
  • If transplanting into a garden bed or changing soil, mix in compost to support root establishment.
  • Water thoroughly after planting to settle soil around the roots.
  • Begin fertilizing with a balanced perennial fertilizer as new growth appears.

Summer
